Bug Report

If you're experiencing a problem with EchoStation, please fill out and submit the following bug report form. You may also want to check out our list of recent fixes, and our list of known problems.

If what you want to tell us is really more of a suggestion or a request for enhancement, please use our suggestion form instead.

Bug Report Form

When you submit your bug report, it will be entered into our database for tracking purposes.  Periodically we will post notices regarding bugs reported by our customers in the Known Problems section of this page, and tips or workarounds on the FAQ page.

Please be as specific as possible when describing the problem.

  • What version of the software are you using? (From the program's Help menu, choose "About EchoStation" to get this information.)

  • What operating system are you using?


  • What make and model of sound card are you using?  (If you are unsure, open your Windows Control Panel and choose "Multimedia", or "Sounds and Multimedia")


  • Please enter a brief one-line description of the problem:

  • If the problem is reproducible, please list the steps required to cause it,
    leaving a blank line between steps:


    If the problem is not reproducible (only happened once, or occasionally for no apparent reason), please describe the circumstances in which it occurred and the symptoms observed:

    Recent Fixes

    The following problems have been corrected in the current release.  If you have experienced any of these problems, please download the latest version.

    Installation errors on certain platforms have been corrected.
    The "RepeaterEnable" and "RepeaterDisable" DTMF commands are now functioning correctly.

    Known Problems

    The following is a list of some known problems; we expect to correct them in an upcoming release.

    DTMF decoder works correctly only within a narrow range of receiver audio levels.
    Dialog boxes show a disabled "PL" option, but there is no such feature in the program.  This is a feature that was anticipated, but will not be implemented.
    If Auto-Pause is enabled, EchoStation always pauses for 5 seconds, regardless of the pause-time setting.
    Certain MP3 files (those in Version 2.5 format) are not readable.
    ID interval cannot be set longer than 10 minutes.
    Control-link feature works only with modems that support 9600 bps or above.
    Certain strings of decoded DTMF digits can cause the program to hang or crash.
